Residential Services

We offer curbside garbage collection within the unincorporated area of Pahrump, Nevada, and the eastern portion of Inyo County, California, including Death Valley. Residential customers are billed quarterly.

Garbage Collection

  • Cart: 96 gallon garbage cart (supplied by Pahrump Valley Disposal)
  • Frequency: Weekly collection
  • Extra Garbage: Call us in advance for collection of extra garbage. Extra garbage must be bagged. An additional fee may be charged. Cardboard moving boxes – if you have a large number of cardboard boxes, break down and bundle together in sizes no larger than 3 ft. by 3 ft. Place next to cart. An additional fee may be charged. Branches -for large quantities of branches, cut to 3 ft. and bundle together. Place next to cart. An additional fee may be charged.

Carts must be placed at curb or road edge by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day. Please position carts to open towards the street and keep them at least three (3) feet apart from additional carts, mailboxes, cars and overhead obstacles. All material must fit inside cart and lid must close. Over-filled carts may not be picked up and/or may result in extra charges.

Residential customers should call 775-727-5777 or visit our office at 1410 E. Mesquite Avenue in Pahrump. An advance payment, a photo ID, and a New Customer Information Form are required for all new services. Download the New Residential Customer Information Form here or fill one out in our office. Forms can be scanned and emailed, faxed, mailed, or returned in person. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We can be reached by phone at 775-727-5777, and by fax at 775-727-5832.

Drop-Off Recycling

Pahrump Valley Disposal accepts the following items at its recycling drop-off locations:

  • Newspaper
  • Cardboard
  • Food and beverage glass
  • Metal cans
  • Plastic bottles, jugs, and beverage containers #1  &  #2 only

Residents can drop-off recyclables in two (2) locations:

  • Pahrump Valley Disposal (at the Metal Yard)
    1410 E. Mesquite Avenue
    Open from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Wal-Mart Shopping Center (next to Sonic)
    300 S. Hwy. 160
    Open 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, seven days a week.
    (Summer Hours: 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM)

Scrap Metal Recycling

Pahrump Valley Disposal is a full service, weigh-master certified, licensed auto wrecker, scrap metal recycler. We purchase, sort, process and market all types of metal. We buy ferrous and non-ferrous metals including vehicles, such as cars, trucks, and heavy equipment, appliances, iron, tin, copper, brass, car batteries and more.

Bulky Item Collection

Bulky items such as furniture and appliances, or items that will not fit in your garbage cart, can be collected separately from regular garbage service. There is a fee for service. Call us at 775-727-5777 to arrange for collection.

Dead Animal Removal

We offer collection services for removal of domestic dead animals. This service includes removal of large animals such as horses and cows and small animals such as dogs and cats. There is a fee for service. Call us at 775-727-5777 to arrange for collection.

Medical Sharps Disposal

Residents may put needles in a sealed, rigid, hard plastic container and place them next to the garbage cart.

Residents may also take them to the landfill the weigh station.

Electronic Waste

Residents may drop off electronic waste, such as computers, televisions, cell phones, stereo equipment, etc. at the metal yard next to our office, located at 1410 E. Mesquite Avenue. Our metal yard is open Monday through Friday. Please call for hours.

Hazardous Waste

Hazardous Waste is strictly prohibited in all garbage carts, bins, and roll-off boxes. This includes all electronic waste (computers, televisions, cell phones, stereo equipment), paint thinners, pesticides, motor oil and oil filters, herbicides, and similar products. Latex paint, however, can be dried out, and once dry, the paint may be disposed of in the trash. Please visit Nevada Recycles for more information about the disposal of hazardous waste.

If your regular collection day falls on or after the holiday when these holidays fall on weekdays, collection is delayed one day. For example, Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday. That week, Thursday customers will be collected on Friday, and Friday customers will be collected on Saturday. Normal collection resumes the following week.

Special Services

Clean-Up Bins & Roll-Off Bins

For those temporary special projects or large jobs, Pahrump Valley Disposal provides the right bin at the right price for the right material.

  • 3 and 6 cubic yard temporary clean-up bins are available for small household clean-ups.
  • 20 and 30 cubic yard roll-off boxes are available for remodel, landscape tear outs, large clean-ups or construction and demolition (C&D) projects.
  • Rates for Commercial customer C&D roll-off boxes include a County Landfill fee.
  • Weight restrictions are enforced.
    • Weight limit for roll-off bins is one half (1/2) full for heavy material such as roof shingles, concrete, dirt, manure, etc.
    • Overfilled boxes or those exceeding the weight limit will require removal of some contents. Alternatively, a second bin or box may have to be delivered to transfer some contents into this additional bin. This may result in added costs.

Storage Containers

These containers are ideal for storing materials at construction sites and other work environments. They are also well suited to store personal items, athletic equipment, and materials used at recreational sites. Our storage containers are lockable, constructed of steel and come in a variety of sizes. They are available for rental for any length of time needed. Call us at 775-727-5777 to schedule.

Want to educate and empower the next generation?

We are also available for classroom presentations in schools. Our children hold the key to maintaining and developing sustainable waste solutions of the future. Teaching our children to reduce, reuse, and recycle now protects our environment’s future. Free presentations are available to schools and groups ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. Presentations last approximately 45 minutes, and focus on litter, the 3 R’s (reduce, reuse & recycle) and proper disposal of household hazardous waste.
