Since 2007, we have proudly serviced unincorporated areas of Lake County including Riviera, Riviera West, Riviera Heights, Soda Bay, Kelseyville, unincorporated areas around Lakeport, Scotts Valley, Blue Lakes, Witter Springs, Lake Pillsbury, Upper Lake, Nice, Lucerne, Glenhaven, Clear Lake Oaks, Spring Valley Lower Lake, Loch Lomond, Middletown, Cobb Mountain, and Hidden Valley Lake. in Lake County.
Residential Services
We offer curbside garbage, recycling and green waste collection throughout all of our service areas in Lake County, CA. Residential customers are billed quarterly.
Garbage Collection
- Cart: Gray lid
- Sizes: 20, 32, 64 or 96 gallon carts
- Frequency: Weekly
- Material: Non-recyclable items accepted by the landfill
Carts need to be placed at curb or road edge at least 3 feet apart by 4:00 am on your collection day. Please position carts to open towards the street and keep them free of neighboring or overhead obstacles. All material must fit inside cart and lid must close. Over-filled or contaminated carts may not be picked up and/or may result in extra charges.
Residents can also purchase pre-paid bags for garbage and put these bags out on the appropriate collection day. These bags are ideal for vacation homes and people that do not generate enough garbage to require regular weekly service. Bags can be purchased at our office located at 230 Soda Bay Road in Lakeport, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Recycling Collection
- Cart: Blue lid
- Size: 96 gallon cart
- Frequency: Weekly (same day as garbage service)
- Material: Newspaper, household paper, magazines, cardboard, food and beverage glass, metal cans, plastic food and beverage containers.
All recyclables are placed in the same cart. Carts need to be placed at curb or road edge at least 3 feet apart by 4:00 am on your collection day. - Size: 96 gallon cart
- Frequency: Weekly (same day as garbage service)
- Material: Lawn clippings, leaves, plant material, branches under 4″ in diameter, and small unpainted wood pieces

Bulky Item Collection
- Residents can have one (1) bulky item collected twice per year at no charge. Bulky items typically include a piece of furniture or an appliance. A charge for freon removal may be applied for refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners. Prior arrangement must be made for this service.
- Collection of additional bulky items (beyond the two free collections) can be arranged for a fee.

During these weeks, if your regular collection days falls on or after the holiday, collection is delayed one day.
For example, Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday. That week, Thursday customers will be collected on Friday, and Friday customers will be collected on Saturday. Normal collection resumes the following week.

- Material: Newspaper, household paper, magazines, stationery, catalogs, cardboard, food and beverage glass, metal cans, plastic food and beverage containers (no plastic wrap).

California Recycling Mandate
California Assembly Bill (AB) 341 establishes a 75% recycling goal for California by the year 2020. What does this mean to your business or apartment complex? If you generate 4 or more cubic yards of solid waste per week, or have 5 or more units at a multifamily dwelling, you must have recycling service.

At LCWS, we are committed to being your local recycling resource. An on-site assessment of your waste stream can identify ways to capture more recycling which may result in a reduction of your garbage bill. Please call us at 707-234-6400 to schedule a free on-site visit.
Special Services
Debris Boxes & Roll Off Bins
For those temporary special projects or large jobs, LCWS provides the right bin at the right price for the right material.
- 3 cubic yard debris boxes available (small household cleanups)
- 15, 20 and 30 cubic yard roll-off bins available for remodel, construction, landscape tear-out, and large clean ups
- Discounts offered for debris boxes containing only ‘clean recyclables’ such as cardboard, glass and appropriate plastics
- Discounts also offered for debris boxes containing segregated recyclables such as wood, green waste, metal, concrete, and asphalt
Weight restrictions are enforced and a Release Agreement is required. Please call us at 707-234-6400 for more information.
HAZ-DROP for Household Hazardous Waste
When disposed of in the trash or down the drain, household hazardous waste threatens to damage the environment and may end up in Clear Lake or other waterways. Household Hazardous Waste includes pesticides, paints, solvents, thinners, batteries, medical waste or material containing asbestos.
Through our HAZ-DROP program, household hazardous waste is collected from Lake County residents the third Friday and Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at rotating ends of the lake for convenience to all residents in Lake County. Please note:
- State law prohibits delivery of more than 15 gallons per vehicle
- Propane tanks (any compressed cylinders), maximum 5 gallons
- Must show identification as a Lake County resident
Most items are accepted free of charge (see below for accepted materials). Businesses must make an appointment by calling 707-234-6400 and a small fee will apply. Dates, locations, and times for HAZ-DROP can be found here for 2022, and here for 2023.
Televisions and computer monitors are accepted at no charge at these locations.

Want to educate and empower the next generation?
Teaching our children to reduce, reuse and recycle now protects our environment’s future. Free presentations are available to schools and groups ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. Presentations last approximately 45 minutes, and focus on litter, the 3 R’s (reduce, reuse & recycle) and proper disposal of household hazardous waste.
